Increasingly renowned for her work with young musicians, Alice is a sought-after and experienced teacher. She has taught the piano since 2009, and was awarded the LRAM teaching diploma in 2011. Alice has been on the faculty at various prestigious institutions, including Junior Guildhall, King’s College, Dulwich College and Dame Alice Owen’s School. Her students have been awarded numerous prizes and scholarships to junior conservatoires and independent schools. From 2013-14 she held a Leverhulme Fellowship with Pro Corda.

5Alice teaches a small number of students privately in the Shepherd’s Bush area of West London. Alice is especially interested in starting beginners at an early age, and uses Suzuki repertoire alongside notation-reading skills and music theory to ensure an all-round musician. ABRSM grade exams are supported when appropriate, but not essential, and performances at festivals and school events are encouraged. Alice organises an annual concert at a local venue for her students and all are invited to take part.

Alice also teaches piano at Bute House Preparatory School (since 2013), where she also acts as an advanced ensemble coach and accompanist for music exams and concerts. She is the official accompanist and an ensemble coach for Bayswater Suzuki Group, and an official accompanist for LSG Bryanston.

Alice is experienced in teaching music theory, and offers lessons specifically tailored towards passing the ABRSM Grade 5 Theory Exam. These can be arranged on a weekly basis over a longer period of time, or as a ‘crash course’ in the lead-up to the exam. Alice has an in-depth knowledge of the ABRSM theory syllabus and the layout of the exam paper, so is able to guide students to the best of their ability in the shortest space of time. Supporting sessions for aural, musicianship, sightreading (any instrument or voice) are also available upon request, at every level.

Enquiries from keen, committed, potential students (up to the age of 18) are welcome. Lessons are given in a designated music teaching room, with Steinway grand piano. Rates are £48 per hour. Please note Alice teaches from her home studio only, and does not travel elsewhere to teach (aside from workshops/masterclasses/courses).
